Built at Falaise, on the remains of a house destroyed during the spring and summer bombardments of 1944, the Civilian War Memorial is a unique place of memory in the world. The fate of civilian populations is rarely mentioned in history textbooks. This exceptional and recently inaugurated museum will allow you to discover their daily life.
How to bear the weight of the Occupation? Manage the exodus, rationing and human losses? Communicate with allied armies? Help the resistance without risking its life? Survive in times of massive bombardment? Through numerous period images and sounds, whose weight is reinforced by a particularly immersive scenography, you will find the answers to the questions you ask yourself. Everyday heroes deserve never to be forgotten.
