From April 24 to July 21, 2024, explore "Restored Grand Decorations of Notre-Dame," the new exhibition by the National Furniture! Through this new exhibition, you will discover the extensive work carried out over the past five years to restore the masterpieces of the interior decor of the building, including twenty-one large-format paintings, among which are thirteen large "Mays". Among the major works are ensembles created by the greatest painters of the 17th century such as Charles Le Brun, Laurent de La Hyre, and Charles Poerson. These paintings will be shown to the public for the first time in two centuries in the same scenography, before their reinstallation in the cathedral. This exhibition highlights the expertise, techniques, and scientific knowledge of the restoration teams and the Center for Research and Restoration of the Museums of France (C2RMF) who contributed to the restoration of the exhibited pieces.
