What to expect

This impressive monument, built between 1905 and 1908, was designed by a great architect named Lluís Domènech i Montaner, who played a significant role in the spread of Modernism in Spain and Catalonia. The famous Palau de la Música Catalana has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. It is part of the already extensive list of must-see places to visit in the city of Barcelona.

A Palace in the Heart of Barcelona

The Palace of Catalan Music is located in the Sant Pere district, just 700 meters from Plaça de Catalunya, a symbolic landmark of Catalan culture. More specifically, this palace is situated on Sant Pere Més Alt Street, but its monumental and colorful façade extends to the corner of Amadeu Vives Street. This palace is the headquarters of the Orfeó Català. In essence, it is a social and cultural venue dedicated to Catalan culture and, more broadly, international culture. The building contains a total of five rooms: the concert hall, the Orfeó Català rehearsal room, the Lluís Millet hall, the palace foyer, and the small palace. Each of these five spaces has a distinctive charm that makes them unique. The standout feature of these different rooms is undoubtedly the natural light that fills most of them.

How to Best Organize Your Visit?

There are two types of visits available: the self-guided tour and the guided tour, both accessible to people with reduced mobility.
First, the self-guided tour lasts 50 minutes and can be done between 10 am and 3 pm. It is conducted with an audio guide, available in French, Catalan, Spanish, and English, for a fee of €10 per entry. This option allows you to visit the different rooms of the palace and enjoy its extraordinary architecture at your own pace.
Next, the guided tours also last 50 minutes and are available from 10 am to 3 pm in the languages mentioned above, at a price of €18 per person. However, the maximum number of people per group is limited to 15, so be sure to book your tickets in advance.

Additionally, there are other types of tickets with an original and practical concept. One such option is the "open date" visit, where you pay for the visit without selecting a specific date. You then have up to 12 months to choose when you will visit the Palace. This option can be ideal as a gift.
