What to expect

In 1324, the Saint-Etienne Cathedral of Bourges was consecrated, one of the most beautiful Gothic churches in France. At first sight, one cannot help but admire this vast edifice with its harmonious proportions, its towering spire, and the refinement of its sculpted tympanums. Particularly noteworthy is the cathedral's facade, which features one of the finest depictions of the Last Judgment in Gothic statuary. While entry to the church is free, a ticket is required to access the tower and the crypt. It is within the crypt that one can contemplate numerous medieval tombs, including the effigy of the Duke of Berry. Remember to reserve your ticket in advance with Ticketeaser to gain access to the cathedral's tower and crypt during your visit.

Opening Hours

The tower and crypt of Bourges Cathedral are open every day (closed Sunday mornings).

From April 1st to April 30th: Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 11:45 am and from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm. Sunday from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm.
From May 2nd to August 31st: Monday to Saturday from 9:30 am to 11:30 am and from 2:00 pm to 5:45 pm. Sunday from 2:00 pm to 5:45 pm.
From September 1st to September 30th: open every day from 10:00 am to 11:45 am and from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm.
From October 1st to December 31st: Monday to Saturday from 9:30 am to 11:30 am and from 2:00 pm to 4:45 pm. Sunday from 2:00 pm to 4:45 pm.

Closures: January 1st, May 1st, November 1st and 11th, and December 25th.
Note: Last access to the tower is 45 minutes before closing time.
