What to expect

Officially known as the Muséum de Toulouse, this is a simply enormous playground of world and human history with more than two million items housed over three floors in a brick and glass cultural palace. The Toulouse Natural History Museum emerged from a major rebuilding programme in 2007 and now offers one of the largest collections of its kind in France for visitors to enjoy. You and your family will learn about the formation of our solar system, how volcanoes work, about our prehistory and - critically for our times - about biodiversity. There are special exhibitions for toddlers, as well as workshops and a laboratory for the would-be scientists in your family. You’ll be able to indulge in a walk in the large botanical gardens and, for those who relish the romance of English planting, the delightful Royal Garden.
